Knowles Group 2018 Year in Review

We had a great year, and hope that you did too! As we look back, we are reminded how much fun we had helping our clients and attending many community events. Thank you to all of our clients for helping make 2018 an awesome year. We are incredibly grateful for each of you! Please join us as we stroll down memory lane!

We truly could not do what we do without you. Many of our clients this year came from referrals from you: our friends and past clients. This is the biggest compliment we can receive and we are so so grateful!  If you or someone you know would like to buy, sell or invest in real estate, please let us know, or let them know about us. We are eager to help everyone achieve their real estate goals!

Thank you for a fantastic 2018!

We kicked off 2018 with a big party to celebrate Blair’s 30th birthday. With DJing by Dsantos VT and catering by Every Table VT, the party was a huge success and a lot of fun!

The beginning of the year also saw the announcement from our brokerage, Keller Williams, that we are now the largest real estate company in the country! We have over 165,000 agents that sold over 1 million homes in 2017! This means that we are better able to connect you and your family or friends to agents around the world. Keller Williams is also getting ready to roll out some incredible technology in 2019, so stay tuned!

In February, Blair and Cody flew to Anaheim, California for Family Reunion, a Keller Williams conference. In addition to learning about the real estate world, they explored Disneyland and discovered roller coasters are not for them (see right).

March came in like a lion with a slew of new listings and closings, including one (5189 St. George Rd, Williston) that received multiple offers and went until contract in less than 48 hours. It was the first of many listings this year that sold similarly quick after multiple offers!

In April we attended ANEW Place’s Story Shaper event at The Great Northern to learn how we could get more involved with the organization. ANEW Place is a homeless organization in Burlington that helps people get back on their feet through a variety of programs.

In May, we joined the rest of our office for RED (Renew, Energize, Donate) Day. Each year for one day, all of Keller Williams stops and spends the day volunteering in their local community. This year we helped prepare Camp Takumta for their summer campers. Camp Takumta is a summer camp for kids with cancer and their families.

May also saw Blair being named a finalist in Seven DaysSeven Daysies’ best real estate agent category. Although she ultimately did not win, we are honored that she was named one of 5 finalists. Thank you for everyone who voted!

June was a fun month! We helped out with the 4th annual Dave’s Ice Cream Social to benefit the Franklin County Area Cancer Network (Cody helped with the marketing and Blair taste tested the ice cream!). Organized by our good friend, Jeremy, this annual event is incredible, watch out for it again in 2019!

We also hosted our second annual Welcome Summer’ BBQ in June at North Beach. This year the weather was much better and saw an epic water balloon fight and several snakes and lizards courtesy of 802 Reptiles!

In July we paused real estate for a weekend (in reality it was only a few hours) to celebrate Blair’s wedding in Middlebury!

In August Chelsea participated in the first Stay to Stay Weekend organized by the State of Vermont and Lake Champlain Regional Chamber of Commerce. Chelsea even took a reporter from Livability on a tour of the area as part of her profile on the Stay to Stay program. The program helps people looking to move to Vermont find jobs, housing (with the help of us!), and get to know the area they are interested in. These weekends are held throughout the state several times a year.

August was a big month for us as we welcomed Kristen Mills to the team. With a strong passion for connecting with and helping people, Kristen has found a home helping other people find theirs. She started her Real Estate career as a licensed assistant in 2016 where she learned and managed transactions from start to finish, and having direct contact with clients has really solidified this role as a positive, challenging, and rewarding career for her. Since joining our team, she has brought so much energy, positivity, and knowledge to the team!

September saw our first annual apple picking event at Hackett’s Orchard in South Hero. During the event, we had a scavenger hunt by hiding fake fruit throughout the orchard. All but 1 piece was found! Congratulations to our winners and thank you everyone who came out for some apples and delicious cider and doughnuts!

We also dressed up like Gatsby in September to attend the Realtor of Distinction award party at Waterworks in Winooski. At the ceremony, Blair was awarded with her 5 year pin!

In October, as Vermont was experiencing one of the best foliage in recent memory, we helped put on ANEW Place’s annual Rock Paper Scissors Tournament. This year the event was held at ArtsRiot and featured both team and individual competitions!

We also partnered with Dave’s Ice Cream Social again in their annual Singathan to benefit the Franklin County Area Cancer Network. We matched the first $500 in donations for this fun event. Be sure to check out Dave’s Ice Cream Social’s Facebook page to watch the songs!

The team headed to Hartford in October for a quick visit to Keller William’s New England Mastermind. While a quick trip, it was great to see what other teams in New England are doing.

Just before the first snow, we took an afternoon in November to plan 2019. We are super excited for next year and have plans to bring on new team members and expand to other parts of the state. If you know of anyone who’d be interested in a career in real estate, please let us know! We’d be happy to show them how to get started.

In December we will be visited by the man from the north pole! That’s right, Santa Claus is coming to town! He will be at our office on for photos. We all know he is a busy man this time of year, so he will only be at our office in South Burlington from 10am – noon. Please join us on the 15th at 68 Randall Street for treats and photos with Santa!

From all of us at the Knowles Group, thank you for making 2018 so amazing and best wishes in 2019! We truly could not do what we do without you. Many of our clients this year came from referrals from you: our friends and past clients. This is the biggest compliment we can receive and we are so so grateful!  If you or someone you know would like to buy, sell or invest in real estate, please let us know, or let them know about us.
